FPGA project NEED HELP urgently

Postby snpatil » Thu Mar 10, 2005 11:54 am

I am trying to built a new device for my project in which i want to project 3 different images (basically 3 different lines ) in a continus loop on to the screen. I am thinking of using FPGA to control the vga signal to the screen. Also i want to simultaneously take the picture of these three pictures as and when they are displayed on the screen (asp) (frame rate is important )
so firstly i would like to know wether it is possible to control the vga signal and if yes how is it done ?
and secondly is it possible to control the camera (i have a cammera which can be triggred using a signal ) using the same fpga ?

I have no experience in the field so please help

(P.S.anybody intrested in providing an ready made device are welcome , i am ready to pay for that )

I'd be curious to learn what this is for...
Anyway, sure, FPGAs could do that, see the VGA pong game and the LCD project.

Have a look at the opencores project - I believe they have a nice VGA core there.

Yes, the fpga can control the camera. Although it might be more expedient to use a microcontroller in addition to the FPGA for tasks like that.
