Hi im just starting with FPGAs and i want to buy a programmer. I found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Altera-USB-Blaster- ... 2c53f1e342 clone on e-bay. Does these clones usually works well? Will i have any kind of problem with them?

Second question.
Are the VHDL compilers free?

As i am starting probably i am going to have much more questions haha.

Altera and Xilinx give out free versions of their development kit. The free versions lack some features, but you can get by with the free version just fine.

Probably with some cyclone device. Im just starting with FPGAs so im not going to high end devices yet. Wht kind complexity can i hget with some cyclone II or III?
