Pluto RS232

Hi,

I am trying to connect the Pluto board to 3.3v rs232 interface (just transistor voltage shifter) and 3.3v FTDI (FTDI232RL), but I didn't have any luck to configure the FPGA. What does the Pluto board require for the RS232 connector.

Thanks

Pluto takes the RS232 signal directly for its reception! So you feed the TxD signal from your PC directly to Pluto's RxD.

For transmission, you need to go through a MAX232 or TXDI or something similar...

Basically, Pluto RS232 is asymmetric i.e. you need an inversion in the Pluto-->PC direction while you don't need one in the PC--> direction. If you are using a FTDI232RL, enable the TxD invert bit.
