FT232RL based boards should work with Pluto but you have to invert the TxD signal (you can do that using FT_PROG). Leave RxD non-inverted. Remember to unplug the FT232RL board and plug it back to get the effect of the FT_PROG programming working.

The FTDI chip or Pluto board don't have an RXI pin, not sure what this is.
