Dragon-E possible application question

Postby ilia » Wed Mar 03, 2010 9:21 pm

I'm a developer and currently working on some specific DAQ system.
The goal is to capture continous analog signal at 200mhz with 8-bit accuracy into computer RAM, where the CPU can perform some math with it.
I've found a Dragon-E PCI Express FPGA board with Flashy, but don't have enough information yet.
Will this combination be enough for such a goal - continously digitize signal and transmit it via PCI-e to PC? The data rate over PCIe has to be 1.6Gbit!
Are there any examples already proving the real speed of this system?

Thank you.

Dragon-E being a PCI-E x1 gen1 board, 1.6Gbit may be possible but it is a stretch (the theoretical max bandwidth is 2Gbit, but then there is always some overhead).
